Just say no to war and weapons

posted Tuesday, 2 December 2008

No. I haven't become a pacifist. Instead, I'm talking about SpringSource's newish tagline: "Weapons for the war on Java complexity". I have barely recovered from the Spring framework's recent encounter with commercialism. And now, my favorite frameworks and tools have been recharacterized as weapons. Is war and weapony really the best metaphors to characterize SpringSource's business? After all, the war on poverty is still ongoing after 44 years, the war on drugs has lasted 37 years, and the war on terror is likely to continue for quite sometime. I really can't wait that long for Java's complexity to be solved Wink.
